WHAT MAKES THIS CAT SPECIAL?
Bebo was found with a severely broken jaw after the misaligned bones had already fused and it was beyond surgical correction. He had also lost sight in his left eye. At the vet, his teeth were removed to help him eat better within the restricted mobility. Bebo was adopted from The Rescue House and adored, but an unexpected life change for his adopter has brought him back into our care.
Bebo is a very energetic and playful bicolor-eyed boy! He will jump for feather wands and likes the uppermost perch of his comfy cat tower. Confident and charming, Bebo can be carried like a baby, loves ear scratches, and a snug hug is just the ticket for him-he likes being pressed against your chest. This is handy since he often needs chest fur cleanup due to his messy eating and drooling that results from not being able to fully close his mouth. (You'll often see his cute tongue, though!) While his traumatic injury has left him with some accommodation needs, Bebo forges ahead without concern. He is friendly and talkative and responds to his name; good conversations are just part of the loving companionship Bebo offers!
While his traumatic injury has left him with some accommodation needs for the jaw deformity, Bebo is medically sound and his spirit has never faltered. Will you match his love and get a lifetime of joy with this sweetie?

About The Rescue House
The Rescue House, Inc. is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to helping displaced cats through its rescue, foster, and adoption activities. We open our arms to socialized and people-friendly cats that need assistance and do our utmost to find loving permanent homes for them. Since our inception in 1999, we have rescued over 20,000 cats!
Cats available for adoption can be seen on our website as well as in our four adoption centers in San Diego County, located in pet supply stores and businesses that work with us and share our philosophy. We have wonderful cats in a variety of colors, shapes, sizes, and ages. Each cat has been examined by a veterinarian, tested for feline leukemia, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Our adoption fee includes the microchip registration. Cats nine years and more have also had a full blood chemistry done. We encourage you to visit our adoption centers and to check the ADOPT section of our website for the pictures and stories of our special cats ready for adoption. These are great cats with much love to give!
Our volunteers play a crucial role with The Rescue House. They provide foster care for our rescued cats until they are ready to enter an adoption center. They visit our adoption centers and take care of the cats there, they provide transportation for the cats, and they do many, many other important tasks that keep this group helping as many cats as we possibly can. We presently have over 300 active volunteers and 40 active foster homes. Our ONLY source of funding is from the generous donations we receive from caring individuals. Since The Rescue House is volunteer based and we have no physical structure or overhead, the overwhelming majority of all donations goes directly to the veterinary and supportive care of our cats.
The Rescue House’s mission is to eliminate the need for our organization. We work toward this goal through education to increase public awareness of responsible pet ownership and an aggressive spay/neuter program. Until such time as there are no more “homeless” cats, we will provide our service the best we can.
We strive to save as many of our special cat companions as we can. To save lives, we need the assistance and support of our community – we need more volunteers and donations. We hope you will join us.
One Million Flowers Foundation is honored to help spotlight adoptable animals in partnership with The Rescue House, an independent rescue organization. The Rescue House manages all adoption applications, screening, fees, and animal care. Questions about a specific cat or the adoption process should go directly to The Rescue House at www.rescuehouse.org.
