Frequently Asked Questions
Who do you give flowers to?
We share flowers with a variety of local San Diego organizations, including Meals on Wheels, senior living facilities, and senior centers. You might also find surprise bouquets at our Books & Blooms Little Free Library in Solana Beach or tucked around the city when we have extra blooms to share. Every bouquet is made with love and meant to brighten someone’s day.
I would like to volunteer. How does it work?
We’d love to have you join us! Email Kelli Pease at kelli@onemillionflowers.org to be added to our volunteer list. About once a month, we send out an email with upcoming opportunities. Be sure to sign up quickly as spots tend to fill up fast! Most gatherings take place in Solana Beach, where we spend an hour or two creating hand-tied bouquets to give away. Occasionally, there are also opportunities to help with flower-arranging classes for seniors or to assist in a local garden.
Do you do arrangements for special events or take individual flower requests?
At this time, we don’t take individual flower requests or create arrangements for special events, including other nonprofits, schools, or memorials. Thank you for your understanding.
Where do you get your flowers that you donate?
Our flowers come from a mix of generous sources — local flower farmers, gardeners, and florists who share extra blooms or donate flowers from events. We’re endlessly grateful for their kindness and support. If you’d like to donate flowers, please email Kelli at kelli@onemillionflowers.org.
